Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan, India discuss situation in Afghanistan
AKIPRESS.COM – Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov met Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar as part of a working visit to New Delhi.
Minister Kaimilov thanked for the invitation to attend the Raisina Dialogue Conference held under aegis of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
The Ministers discussed the current bilateral cooperation and its prospects drawing on the agreements reached between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Ministers also discussed the schedule of the upcoming bilateral events in 2020 and prioritized economic cooperation.
A special attention was paid to situation in Afghanistan. The sides reaffirmed interest in the soonest stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan that will pave the way for expansion of cooperation in the regions. India-Central Asia Dialogue Ministerial Meeting with participation of Afghanistan is believed to help achieve that goal. The first such meeting was held in January 2019 in Samarkand.
